Research

Our research  interests cover virtually every aspect of modern social, environmental and economics reform and innovation policies,  analysis, awareness, action, implementation and its applications.

Our objective is to engage in world-leading innovative research that extends the frontiers of human understanding of our place in  the world and our impacts and potential for change and innovation for making the world a better place. We aim to  enhance governments,’  academics, students’ NGOs, and  the publics’ understanding of the  green issues, environmental issues,  economics and social justice and why they really matters to their future and that of the planet. We have some of the best speakers, experts and scientists in the world in our team. We seek to inform and improve the design and  implementation of public policy and science across the world.

The incredibly varied and prolific outputs of the department are  reflected in the broad scope of our research and the international and truly diverse network of researchers and experts. We seek to maintain world-class expertise  around  the core discipline areas of social and environmental justice and science and economics reform and the development of new disciplines and clusters radiating out from them informed by the complexity of the rapidly changing world around us both physical and human both natural and impacted by humans.

In  2010 our Director received the rank of one of the world’s 100 most powerful women and in  2014  our Director received the Honour Award for Green Business Excellence from the Luxembourg Government. The United Nations has awarded us Research status.  Our first ever teaching course came runner up in the golden gown awards. Prince Charles has said the creation of our academic journal on green economics was music to his ears.  We continue to make waves all over the world.  We helped negotiate the Paris Climate Agreement COP15 and we provide influential input to all sorts of global innovations and we continue to advocate for much faster climate ambition and ending the 6th ever mass extinction of species.

We walk the talk and do what we say will.  Our teams come from all walks of life and are truly diverse and inclusive. One of our most enduring and far reaching campaigns is to prevent panels, conferences, decision making bodies and decision makers continuing to consist of one over represented group of privilege instead asking for all human activity to reflect the wonderful diversity of human life. Our writing and our research is from across the world and we don’t edit the voices we seek to hear.  We are always pleased to welcome new research team members, scholars, students, academics, post doc research fellows, and many more throughout the year.

We bring our researchers together with policy makers, academics, government officials, activists, NGOs  and many more at our regular conferences and these attract up to 1000 people and are held throughout the year. All are welcome.

We are completely independent and cross party and receive no funding from large corporations or any interest groups and have never taken any loans. We are truly unique and an agile little mouse amongst the dinosaurs who are leading much of obsolete and outdated policies today.

We are always pleased to welcome new research team members, scholars, students, academics, post doc research fellows, and many more throughout the year. Please apply today. We are very friendly and open to new ideas!
